Regular routes, no travel surcharge, and a firm price before anything starts.
Get a Free QuoteMost Deer Lodge work is metal, not masonry. Insulated class-A chimney above the ceiling, single-wall connector between stove and ceiling support box, and a stove that is the actual heating system rather than an amenity. That system needs a different brush, a gentler hand and a closer look at the joints than brick does.
We take the connector pipe down where it is practical, because the horizontal and near-horizontal sections collect the most and are the least visible. Reassembly matters as much as cleaning: crimped ends facing the right way, three screws per joint, correct clearance to combustibles at the ceiling box.
| Job | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Wood stove, class-A pipe, standard height | $170 - $220 |
| Connector pipe removed, cleaned and refitted | +$40 - $70 |
| Second appliance (shop or outbuilding), same trip | $110 - $150 |
| Masonry chimney, rural property | $200 - $260 |
More on how we do this work on the Chimney Sweeping page, or see everything we cover in Deer Lodge.
A masonry chimney that has had a chimney fire usually survives it. Something cracks, you find it on inspection, it gets repaired. Class-A insulated pipe does not work that way. The liner is thin stainless, and a real chimney fire can run hot enough to warp it, discolour it and compromise the insulation between the walls. Once that happens the section is finished - it cannot be repaired, only replaced, and any manufacturer will say the same.
That is the argument for keeping metal systems genuinely clean rather than adequately clean. On brick, a marginal year is a marginal year. On class-A, a single bad event on a loaded flue can cost you the chimney. On rural properties where response times are measured in tens of minutes, it can cost considerably more than that.
